Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson was born in Paris France to British parents Jacqueline Luesby and Chris Watson, both lawyers. After relocating to Oxfordshire when she was five, Emma attended The Dragon School. Emma was aspired to become an actor when she was just aged six. She attended Stagecoach Theatre Arts in Oxford, an acting school that offers part-time classes. By the time she turned 10, she had already taken part in many Stagecoach plays and productions. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) the film adaptation of J.K. Rowling's bestselling British novel began casting in 1999. Casting agents discovered Emma through her Oxford theatre teacher.
